What ever promises they make, on condition, on anything, get them in writing! You may find you need it later when the "Bob's" of this world start playing games.
Bob said he was "driving this car daily", he must have smoked up every sleazy motel in Seward, NE.
Great deals, no pressure !!!
6. Dimmer switch left under carpeting, never reinstalled. .5 hour labor charge.
This is proof that there are still large dealerships out there owned by people who you'd expect to find the most low-life, stereotypical used car lot.
Hey Ford, do you care that you have a corrupt owner in Seward, NE?
I talked with the owner (Bob) directly before buying the car over the internet. The car was shipped and arrived in the cosmetic condition that was promised. But, once I took it in for an inspection, the mechanical condition was hugely different than what Bob had described. Instead of only having one window that stuck a bit, here's what was really wrong:
I asked to return the car, but of course they said no. When we talked about the condition not being even close to described, they cited the "as-is warranty", even though this is not a warranty issue-it's about lies and deception.
7. Engine missing choke. Car smoked when started, thank god it was not a major valve issue.
2. Car was full of bondo vs. the "Arizona car, no rust" promised by the great owner. Significantly lowers the value.
5. No seat-belts for front seats (belts only in back seats). Whomever replaced the carpeting decided not to replace the belts. $150 parts/labor.
In the end, your reputation is everything, and although these old guys don't get it, people like you will find another place to spend their money where integrity matters.
Had the car I had driven to see. Ultimately purchased the car despite a few obvious defects that should have been disclosed (single worn tire/misalignment, cruise control not working, power steering pump leak) before driving 2hrs to the dealer. People were friendly and paperwork was taken care of quickly.
1. Brakes so far out of adjustment, the car could not be driven safely. 1 hour of labor to fix, no parts.
after my husband and small children broke down on the interstate Meyers came towed the truck and took my family back to the shop where they worked past the closing time to get them back on the road and home safe. Thank you so much for taking good care of my family.
3. The automatic shifter arm was held on by one loose bolt, so bad it was difficult to put the car into park without it popping back out. Car would not start the next morning because it wouldn't stay in park. Took $150 in parts and labor to fix.
My advice: find another dealer, this one is owned by a liar.
4. Drivers side door would not close properly. Body shop found that due to a "hack job" the door was re-mounted with standard bolts after it had been improperly mounted previously. It took $500 in labor to correct.
Good service. Will be back.
